11/24/2023 0 Comments Gender flux vs genderfluid![]() I feel a bit weird using the term non-binary on myself when I experience parts of my gender as male, female or androgyne, even though my base-gender is non-binary. You could also call yourself polygender, since there are more than two genders you identify yourself with.Īnd masculinity and femininity is only partially related to gender identity, I've experienced that I felt like a masculine woman or a feminine man before and I feel masculine or feminine (or both) also when I completely identify as agender. etc (there is a term for it, but I wasn't able to find it). Or you might be genderflux, but you can change from agender to agender&neutrois to neutrois to neutrois&. There is also the change that you have a "base-gender" (like my base-gender is agender, because I'm always at least 75% genderless) and the other part of your gender changes over time ( ). If you rather feel like you can't feel when there is a change happening and sometimes it's mixed you could call it genderfluid. If you feel like your gender changes strongly and on one occasion your gender is (as you said) agender and you feel like you can only describe your gender as this and then on another occasion it's neutrois/neutral, then you might be genderflux. So you, The-World-Is-Quiet-Here, could describe yourself as genderqueer, because it will always fit, regardless of how you would describe your gender on one day. I might not want to describe myself as 80% agender, 15% male and 5% androgyne at that time, I just don't feel I can pinpoint it this easy. On those days I rather feel like calling myself genderqueer or even saying parts of my gender is genderfluid, because genderqueer is an overall term that can describe me. I'm most of the days completely agender, but on some days I feel like I'm partially somewhere on the gender binary. ![]() Genderqueer is used as an umbrella term and a gender identity. I chose to call myself nonbinary since it's an umbrella term and doesn't require an explanation. I personally used to identify as genderflux when I was first discovering my gender. Nonbinary is an umbrella term that encompasses any gender that is not strictly male or female, this includes genderfluid and genderflux as well as demigirl/demiboy. genderqueer people fall under the trans umbrella, since they do not identify with their assigned gender. trans means on the other side in latin, cis means on this side. Transgender is the opposite of cisgender, not genderqueer. Genderqueer is a nonbinary identity, it can be used as an umbrella term or a label in and of itself.īigender and pangender do not necessarily decide what their gender is, more that they have two or more genders at once. it does not necessarily change more often than for genderfluid folks. Genderflux is when you change between having and not having a gender. Ok I need to correct you on some things here. Sometimes labels does both things, trans and gay people experience it. Labels are only bad when used to offend somebody. I agree with you, labels are just labels, but well some people feel confident and happy by knowing they "fit" into a word, they're not alone, nor broken. Genderfluid and genderflux people can be called Genderqueer and non-binary, even if they are male + female. Genderqueer people are transfolks and non-binaries, Genderqueer is the opposite of cisgender. Now talking about bigender and poly/pangenders, they have more than 1 gender and unlikely genderfluid/Flux people they can totally decide what is their currently gender. Also neither genderfluids nor genderfluxes are in control of their gender, their gender changes based on something other than their will. Also there's genderflux, genderflux is when a person gets their gender changed away more often than a Genderfluid, with more intensity. Genderfluid is when somebody happens to change BTW 2 or more genders, it doesn't necessarily has to go male + female only, there's male + neutrois, female + androgyne, agender + female + male genderfluids, for example, there's tons of Genderfluid combinations.
